ISSF President Luciano Rossi has been presented with the Vito Genco award by the World Forum on Shooting Activities (WFSA) while attending its annual meeting in Nuremburg.

He was also appointed as a WFSA Ambassador, and ISSF Secretary General Alessandro Nicotra di San Giacomo was elected as a WFSA Executive Board Member. In addition, ISSF has been approved as a voting member of WFSA.

The meeting was held in conjunction with the 50th IWA OutdoorClassics International Trade Fair for Hunting and Sport Shooting in Nuremburg – the world’s leading exhibition for the hunting and target sports industry.

While there, the two ISSF officials also made a presentation to the Industrial Shooting Platform (ISP) accompanied by Commercial and Marketing consultant Michael Harvey, unveiling the ambitious ISSF House Project that will be put in place at the Chateauroux site during the Paris 2024 Games.

The ISP meeting was introduced by Mauro Silvis, Secretary General of the WFSA.

In a speech, President Rossi said he was happy with the way the ISSF was now growing in terms of its new Marketing and Communication strategies.

He also emphasised the exciting possibilities and commercial opportunities raised by the ISSF House project.

Founded in 1996, the WFSA is an association of more than 50 hunting, shooting, and industry organisations.

It represents over one hundred million sport shooters around the world.

For more than 20 years the WFSA and its member organisations have attended every major UN conference affecting hunting or sport shooting.

The WFSA is an official United Nations Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) recognised by the Economic and Social Council of the UN General Assembly.

It is one of the few NGOs in the world to have been invited to speak before one of the five committees of the UN General Assembly.
