The Final Olympic Qualification Championships in Rifle/Pistol and Shotgun, both due to take place in April, are to be considered as ISSF Championships.

This will help participants to fulfil the Athlete Eligibility Criteria for the Paris 2024 Games.

The official qualification document rules that ISSF athletes seeking to take part in the Games “have participated at least in two (2) ISSF Championships during the Qualifying period for each of the individual events which they are to be entered for the at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.”

The section on Athlete Eligibility also states that athletes must also “be listed in the Qualification Ranking for the Olympic Games (QROG) with at least one ranking point achieved for each of the individual events they are to be entered for at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.”

Additionally athletes must be compliant with the Olympic Charter.

The Rifle/Pistol event will take place in Rio de Janeiro from April 11 to 20, and the Shotgun event will be staged in Doha from April 19 to 29.

In an official statement, ISSF added:

“Please note that no QROG points are awarded in the above mentioned Championships and that the participation limit is set at a maximum of 3 athletes per country in each Event.

“Athletes who have already obtained a place quota for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games may also participate in these Championships.”
